Best Westerns - Yours, Mine, Ours

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

With all this talk about westerns, it got me thinking - what is your favourite western? Need inspiration? See the lists below for some 'top westerns'. Do you know a great western that isn't on the lists? Drop it in a comment and I'll add it to the list!

Now, let's put it all together. Email me (moviemoxie at gmail dot com) your top ten westerns by Saturday November 24, 2007 and I'll post the results at the end of the month. If you are really enthusiastic also answer the bonus questions!

Bonus Question One: What western are you surprized you've never seen?
Bonus Question Two: What is your favourite non-western western? (ie not a traditional or spaghetti western, but follows the same pattern)

Oh man! I'm so glad you put this list together, that'll help me remember which ones I've seen. I'm so bad with titles and some of the Clint Eastwoods blend together. I am totally going to participate though!

Mine is still UNFORGIVEN, if for no other reason than for the line "we ALL got it coming".

"My Darling Clementine" needs to be in there somewhere. Sam Fuller's "Forty Guns" is pretty great as well (and it has Barbara Stanwyck - yay!).

If you are looking for something a little off the beaten Western path, try Tears Of The Black Tiger. It's a Thai Western and is just a beautiful film to look at.

My three faves that jump out right away are:

1. Ox-Bow Incident
2. Rio Bravo
3. Red River

Not sure I could put together an appropriate Top 10 list though...I'll have to mull it over.

I tried Shannon, I just don't think I've seen enough to come up with ten, isn't that awful? Pale Rider is definitely my favourite of all time though.

Oh, maybe 10 is too many! We could do 5 or even the one all time favourite! I will think on this!

List has been revised to include everyone suggestions :)
