Shannon's definition of speculative fiction films: Films based on a 'What if?' in a current, future or alternate history to present reality. These films are more concept based over science based, and are often centred on the personal, cultural or world affect over the science.

I chat all about Speculative Fiction Films as a Genre on Episode 28 of the Movie Moxie Podcast, where I also review The Adjustment Bureau. Speculative Fiction films hold a special place in my heart being strongly placed on questioning and/or high-concept films.
