Film Fan Fridays for Friday July 24, 2009!

Hello Film Fans and Fanatics!

Welcome to Film Fan Fridays for Friday July 24, 2009! We have a huge slate of releases this week with 3 in regular release and 6 in limited release! Lets get started.

In limited release this week we have we start out with 2 music documentaries: Rocksteady: The Roots of Reggae about the (you guessed it) roots of reggae and Soul Power about the 1974 concert in Kinshasa, Zaire 1974 during the Rumble in the Jungle. Can you feel the music? Docs continue with The Beaches of Agnes / Les plages d'Agnès written, directed and about filmmaker Agnès Varda. Jennifer Chambers Lynch hits the screens directing the controversial Surveillance, and the word is that Humpday questions rather than pokes fun at stereotypes & love and finally we have the French rom/com/thriller The Girl From Monaco.

In wide release this week we have the kids can be evil horror film Orphan, disaster looking rom com The Ugly Truth and combination live action and animated guineu pig advenute G-Force. If you are going to head out to see G-Force, make note that it is playing in 2D as well as 3D, make sure to check your local listings to get your best choice matched up.

Those looking forward to In the Loop like me will have to wait, it's been pushed from this weekend to Friday August 14, 2009. Dangnabit!

Have a great weekend!

Shannon
