With so many TIFF announcements today, let's start with last, first shall we? We shall. The closing night Gala film for the festival is The Young Victoria from director Jean-Marc Vallée (C.R.A.Z.Y.), and is a film that focuses on Queen Victoria's early years. Sound familiar? It did for me as well, when it debuted at #4 on the UK box office charts in March - and impressive feat considering it came out the same weekend and Watchmen. The Young Victoria stars Emily Blunt as Victoria, with Rupert Friend, Paul Bettany, Miranda Richardson, Jim Broadbent, Mark Strong and Thomas Kretschmann rounding out the cast.

I can barely hold in my jealousy. Wish I was going to TIFF!
One day, Blake, one day you will!
This of course means that YOUNG VICTORIA isn't so hot, since that closing night gala is almost always a crummy movie with an A-list cast.
It won't really have effect, I think this way.
