You were at the same screening of The Loved Ones as me. I noticed a few older people walk out once the movie starting getting insane. I don't usually watch horror movies I enjoyed the craziness of The Loved Ones. It's creepy, funny and crazy... definitely funny to watch a midnight madness movie at 3:30pm.
I was also at the screenings of The Loved Ones and The Warrior and the Wolf on Tuesday. Of those two, I hadn't met anyone who liked Warrior. I didn't know about the sexual violence beforehand, but there wasn't some sort of a link or reason for it. I saw many people leave before it got halfway, and some of those hung around to see if it got better.
As for The Loved Ones, the campiness made the torture less intense. It was a fun film to watch and the director was very friendly.
Interesting to hear about the walk outs, I don't usually see them but for MM films during the day I can certainly see it happening. I love the crowd at Midnight, but it makes for such a long day, and it's also funny to see 'regular' peoples reactions.
I didn't realized there were walk outs at Warrior and the Wolf. I think knowing about the sexual violence made me a little calmer about it, but rarely do I ever think a film needs it and here the only things I can think of that they would be trying to say about it, aren't that great. It wasn't a fave of mine but I didn't hate it.
I enjoyed the Loved Ones but man, it was hard to sit through! The song has been stuck in my head for days.
