It's Beginning to Look a lot like Christmas

When I went to see Bronson earlier this week I was mystified by this poster for A Christmas Carol. Not the poster itself, I was vaguely aware that we had an upcoming animated film based on the classic tale, even knew that it starred Jim Carrey. Turns out it's also in 3D. Also turns out that it opens.... tomorrow November 6, 2009 with select screenings tonight at midnight. Whoa. Tonight? November 5th? A Christmas film... in early November... at midnight. That's a new one.

I didn't expect to see any Christmas films until December at the earliest. The only other upcoming holiday film I can see so far is Everyone's Fine starring Robert DeNiro, Kate Beckinsdale, Drew Barrymore and Sam Rockwell (see Trailer). But... November? At least they waited the obligatory wait until after Halloween. What are your thoughts, it is too so to get in the spirit?

See the trailer for A Christmas Carol here.

I agree Shannon, way too early! I saw decorations at the store BEFORE Halloween. I'm already getting sick of Xmas stuff. Three D movies are so in now, aren't they? I am not a big fan of this story, truth be told. Coming out so early is not warming me up to the idea of going to see it.

I'm with ya there Suzie, in fact it kinda works out because then I don't feel the need to see it. I know it's a classic Christmas tale but I've never liked it, except the Scrooged version.
