Film Fan Fridays for Friday May 21, 2010

Hello Film Fans and Fanatics!

Welcome to Film Fan Fridays for Friday May 21, 2010!

In limited release this week we have three films to choose from, first up is the vengeance thriller Harry Brown starring Michael Caine and Emily Mortimer. Next up we have the Canadian film Leslie, My Name is Evil which is roughly based on the Manson Cult murders and the real Leslie Van Houten, this drama/comedy follows Leslie (Kristin Hager), and Perry (Gregory Smith) who falls for her when he is selected to be a jury member at her hippie death cult murder trial. Our last limited release of the week is the Italian film Mid-August Lunch / Pranzo di ferragosto, a multiple award winning film from the writer of Gomorrah.

In wide release this week we have MacGruber, an action/comedy following ex-special operative MacGruber (Will Forte), spoofing on the character of the 80's TV Series MacGuyver. Have your duct tape ready to save the world from evil! Mike Myers, Eddie Murphy and Cameron Diaz lend their voice in our latest animated release with Shrek Forever After (playing in 2D, 3D and IMAX 3D). Last up for this week is the Bollywood release Kites (which has a killer music which you can check out at the films website).

On Thursday May 27, 2010 we get a midweek release as Carrie & her friends return to the big screen in Sex and the City 2 and just like first film it's a long one at 2h 26minutes! That reminds me, I have to finally see the first one!

Have a great Victoria Day weekend!

Shannon

Guess I won't be going out to the movies this weekend, yikes! MacGruber? Ugh! Not a fan of the Shrek movies either and the other ones aren't coming out around here. Oh well! On Demand it is! :) Thanks for the newsletter Shannon.

Anything still playing that you'd like to see Suzie? Neither Shrek nor MacGruber appeals to me either - I think this is ne of the few weekends this summer where there isn't a big release I'm interested in.

I was thinking of Date Night but it is only on at night time, too bad! Not much else playing around me. It's true! Nothing big that's worth seeing although I will see Robin Hood once R is back. Oh well, I am sure you will manage to find something around your area to go see.

I'd be curious if you'd like Date Night but might be better to wait for TMN on that one in case you don't :)

Just wanted to point out that it's Mid-August Lunch (not Launch).
